I became a financial paraplanner because I genuinely love helping people. Whether it’s building a retirement strategy, making sure someone’s insurance cover fits their needs, or simplifying complex information, my goal is to make things easier, clearer, and more manageable.

For me, it’s never just about numbers, it’s about people.  When a plan is presented and a client gives the go-ahead, I know I’ve played a part in something meaningful. Behind every spreadsheet and strategy, there’s a real human story and I know I'm playing a part in helping someone feel more confident about their financial life.

“Behind every spreadsheet and strategy, there’s a real human story and I know I'm playing a part in helping someone feel more confident about their financial life.”

Outside the office, life is full and lively. My husband and I have three kids, a daughter and two sons, and most afternoons are spent getting them to swimming, cricket and tuition. Coming from a big family, weekends are usually filled with family dinners, often with more than 50 of us around the table. I love cooking and trying new recipes, and when I get the chance, I head to my local fitness centre for a Zumba class.

I’m an active part of our local Islamic community and always happy to help when needed. Since my boys started playing cricket for East Doncaster, I’ve also become involved with the club, lending a hand wherever I can.

I also love exploring new places. Every couple of years we make the effort to travel to a country we haven’t been to before, and I enjoy learning about different cultures and cuisines along the way. And when the opportunity arises, I love singing Bollywood songs. I’ve even performed in front of nearly 500 people at an annual community event!

Up close and personal with Ahla.

  • I would have loved to have dinner with my grandfather. I never got to meet him as he passed away when my father was young, but have heard so many wonderful stories of him being a great human. There is even a book he wrote about his life story. It amazes me.
